| Welcome to the website of Menasha’s K-9 Corps, a group of concerned citizens and dog advocates who are working to bring a K-9 Unit to the Menasha Police Department. We are a not-for-profit project of Tri-Com. Our goal is to raise $35,000 for covering the initial costs of acquiring an appropriate dog, training the dog and handler team, and equipping the Menasha PD for the housing, transport, and care of the dog.As outlined by officer Paul Scheppf in his proposal, this dog would be a Drug Detection, Tracking, and Community Relations dog … this would not be a dog used for apprehension (the dog would be trained as a no-bite member of the force).Officer Jeff Jorgenson called our board together in January of 2008 to present the need and investigate the possibility of raising the necessary funds for this addition to the force … our response was overwhelming YES! |
